Why We Built This Site
Michigan makes a great deal of court and law enforcement material available, and the hard part is still figuring out which office holds the piece you need. A warrant never sits in just one place. The judge who signs it sets the charge and any bond, the Sheriff's Office or a local police department carries out the order, and the clerk who keeps the file is the only one who can say whether it is still open.
The geography makes it harder. In Paw Paw the courthouse, the Friend of the Court, and the Sheriff's Office sit in three separate buildings, and the district court's second location is in South Haven. Michigan also has no statewide warrant registry, and the state criminal history search states plainly that warrant information is not part of its results. Someone can check one office, find nothing, and draw the wrong conclusion. We gathered the contact details, the case-lookup routes, the record fields, and the request steps for each office so a reader can start at the right counter.
What You Will Find Here
- Missed court dates: how bench warrants arise in an open case and which court controls the recall
- Case lookups: how a warrant check moves from a name search to a clerk who can confirm the status
- Outstanding orders: what an active warrant search can and cannot show when no public list exists
- Charge-based warrants: how arrest warrants start in district court and move to circuit court after a bind-over
- Traffic and city cases: how traffic warrants and city citations end up in the same district files
- Resolving a warrant: the steps from hiring an attorney to a voluntary appearance, bond, and a confirmed recall
What We Cannot Do
We run a private reference site. We have no connection to any Michigan court, the Sheriff's Office, or any state agency. That leaves real limits on what we can do for a reader:
- We cannot clear, recall, quash, or remove a warrant from any system
- We cannot run an official check or confirm that a warrant exists for anyone
- We cannot accept a payment or post bond toward a warrant
- We cannot arrange a court date, a surrender, or a walk-in appearance
- We cannot give legal advice or say how a particular warrant applies to your situation
- We cannot promise that every phone number, payment code, or office detail here is current today
Only the court that issued a warrant, or the agency that serves it, can confirm whether it is open and whether it has been recalled. We can point you to the right office, and the answer still has to come from that office.
Search Partners
Some pages here carry search boxes run by outside providers. Those companies set their own prices and run their own services, and the results they return are not an official warrant check. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps this site free to use. We do not control what those providers charge or what appears in their results.
